I've used Osmocote slow release on my whole yard, since we bought the house 11 years ago. Both front and back yards are all garden and ground cover. There isn't any grass except a 3-foot strip between the sidewalk and the street. I feed everything twice a year, in February and June. The garden looks wonderful spring, summer and fall.
