Heirloom Kentucky Wonder Pole Garden Bean Seeds
This dual purposed bean can be used for either eating fresh when young or as a shell bean (left on plant for seeds to mature). Pods grow to 9" (23 cm.) in length and yield is continuous from mid-summer to the first frost. Good climber, fiberless. Non-genetically engineered seeds.
Culture: Any good well drained soil with a pH above 6 will grow beans. Beans to not tolerate cool wet soil. Sow seeds once in a sunny location after soil has reached at least 50 degrees, loose fertile soil is best. Plant 2"-3" (5-7.5 cm.) apart in double rows 24" (60 cm.) apart. Provide support poles or fencing. 4'-5' (2-3 m.) high. Water regularly.
Harvest: Pick young for fresh use, or leave on the vine to mature as a shell bean.
Nutrition:Beans are low in calories, high in fiber. Supplies calcium, phosphorus and moderate amounts of vitamins A and C.
