Heirloom Detroit Dark Red Beet Seeds
One of the most popular newer varieties. Roots nearly round, very smooth, medium size. Flesh deep red, zoned with darker shade. Most excellent quality and remains in good condition for a long time. Their flavor is rich and sweet. Non-genetically engineered seeds.
Culture: Sow seeds every two weeks April through August for continuous supply. Beets prefer cool weather and are at their tender best when grown quickly with plenty of moisture. Soil should be loamy and high in organic matter. As with all root crops, thinning is essential.
Harvest: 55-60 days.
Nutrition: Good source of vitamin B, calcium, and iron.
Tips: Late summer planting will produce a better crop for winter storage.
