Oxadiazon 2G is a selective, pre-emergent herbicide manufactured by Quali-Pro. The active ingredient, Oxadiazon, is effective in controlling annual grasses and broadleaf weeds growing in turfs, woody ornamental bushes, and trees. Oxadiazon 2G works by killing the seedlings of targeted weeds when contact is made during the germination process. It is ideal for use on established turfs with Bermuda grass, perennial bluegrass, St. Augustine grass, and more.

This is a restricted-use herbicide meant to only be purchased and applied by licensed applicators.

Tools Needed

To apply Oxadiazon 2G, a handheld spreader, push spreader or professional tow behind broadcast spreader is needed. For smaller turfs a push spreader is recommended. For small spot treatments, a handheld spreader is suggested.

Using a spreader

How to Use

  • Step 1: For general applications made with a push spreader, begin by measuring the area where Oxadiazon 2G Herbicide treatment is needed.  You can do this by multiplying the total length and width of the landscape together (length x width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide by 43,560  to get acres. Depending on your turf species, you may be using anywhere from 2.25 to 4.5 pounds per 1,000 square feet or 100 to 200 lbs. per acre depending on the weed you wish to treat.
  • Step 2: Fill your selected spreader with the correct amount of granulated herbicide and adjust the spreader settings to the proper calibration for your spreader type
  • Step 3: Push the spread around the perimeter of the turf at a steady pace and work your way to the middle dispersing the granules evenly to dry foliage. Water the treated areas as soon as possible after the application process.
  • Step 4: Depending on the severity of the weed infestation, reapply as needed, but no more than 200 pounds per acre in 1 application, and no more than 300 pounds per acre per year. Read the label for specific instructions regarding additional applications as it varies,
