Sugar Snap Pea Seeds
Won the All American Gold Medal Award 1979. When the pod is bent, it will snap like a snap bean. The peas can be shelled or pods and peas can be eaten together. Non-genetically engineered.
Culture: Peas do best in rich, light moisture retentive soil. Will not thrive in waterlogged or very dry soil. Dislikes very hot weather. Early spring and/or early autumn plantings in the south are most suitable. Vines need to be trellised.
Harvest: Thick, round, meaty, 2 1/2"-3 1/2" (6.25-8.75 cm) pods can be snapped like green beans or left on the vine until 5-7 green peas mature. Strings develop at full maturity. Freezes well; cannot stand the heat of canning.
Nutrition: Good source of vitamin C and iron, protein and fiber.
