Seed Ranch Sunn Hemp Seed is a warm-season, high-protein annual legume ideal for deer food plots, wildlife habitat, soil improvement, and summer forage production. Known for its fast growth and heavy biomass, Sunn Hemp can reach 6–7 feet tall and provides highly attractive, protein-rich forage that supports healthy deer growth and antler development.

This versatile legume performs well as a stand-alone food plot or blended with warm-season favorites such as lablab, cowpeas, soybeans, or millet. Its rapid upright growth helps protect slower-establishing crops from heavy browsing while adding valuable organic matter back into the soil. Sunn Hemp is also an excellent soil-building cover crop, helping improve soil structure, suppress weeds, and contribute nitrogen for future plantings.

Planting Rate: 25 lbs. per acre

Planting Instructions: Plant Sunn Hemp when soil temperatures reach 65°F or warmer. Seed should be planted 1/2 to 1 inch deep into good soil moisture. When broadcasting, cover seed by dragging, cultipacking, or lightly disking to ensure good seed-to-soil contact. If the stand becomes too tall or stemmy, mow it back to approximately 12 inches to encourage fresh, tender regrowth.
